The holidays are right around the corner, so we thought it would be a good idea to help people with an idea for a dessert! My favorite part of thanksgiving dinner is of course the apple pie. What is better than that delicious cinnamon apple taste with the delicious pie crust…?
To start you will need these ingredients. You will need white sugar, all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, lemon zest, apples, lemon juice, butter, a 9-inch double crust pie and milk. These ingredients will be made into a delicious dessert that the whole family can enjoy!
To start I would recommend preheating the oven before you start mixing the ingredients together. This way you will have the oven ready for when the pie is finished being put together. The oven should be set to 425 Degrees F. You will need ½ cup of white sugar, ½ cup of brown sugar, 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour, a ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 8 sliced apples , 1 tablespoon butter,1 recipe pastry for a 9inch double crust pie, ¼ cup of water.
After you preheat the oven to 425 degrees f, you will want to melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in the flour to form a paste. Add in water, white sugar and brown sugar, add in some cinnamon and bring to a boil. Reduce the temperature and let simmer. You will then want to place the bottom crust into your pan. Fill the crust with apples, mounded slightly. Cover the mounded apples with a lattice work crust. Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust, you will want to pour it slowly so that it does not run off the pie. Bake for 45 minutes and you will have a delicious dessert ready to be eaten!
